Bo'ness Hill Climb Revival
9th and 10th August 2008
From 1932 'til 1966 the small town of Bo'ness had it's own Hill Climb at Kinneil Estate. In it's heyday it attracted some of the top racing drivers and teams in the country and had to cater for approximately 10,000 spectators. A small band of enthusiasts are trying to resurrect this event and after a very successful meeting in May 2007 (to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the inaugural meeting of the British Hill Climb Championship) it was decided to hold another weekend for club members in August 2008. Unfortunately, the weather on the Saturday was pretty poor, but apart from the odd shower the Sunday was dry and so the weather didn't really affect any of the proceedings. As well as the cars on the hill, there were a number of displays organised by supporting Car Clubs and these added additional entertainment to the day - in between watching a very wide variety of vehicles thundering through the buildings on their way up to the finish line. A good day out and I hope that more events will follow at this location.
